The Background
Kazakhstan might not be the first place that comes to mind as a tourist hotspot, but it should be. To change perceptions and showcase the country’s rich history, vibrant present, and ambitious future, Kazakhstan Tourism created an immersive visitor center experience. The goal? Impress an exclusive audience of presidents, ministers, investors, and tourism insiders with cutting-edge multimedia installations.
The Execution
In the “demo zone,” we developed three custom-built installations: Portal to the Future, The Interactive Timeline, and a VR Flying Simulator.
The Portal to the Future featured four-minute projections across three walls, spotlighting the natural beauty and development plans for four distinct regions of Kazakhstan.
The Interactive Timeline took the form of a digital table, where users could explore over 30 destinations. Each with unique visuals and information that brought their stories to life.
The VR Flying Simulator, powered by Oculus Rift and a motion-based platform, let visitors soar virtually over Kazakhstan’s breathtaking mountain landscapes.
All footage was captured, and each installation was built from start to finish in under six weeks. The result? An unforgettable experience that captivated audiences and left a lasting impression.
The Results
From tourists and locals to top-tier officials, the response was unanimous: the installations offered a powerful, shareable glimpse into Kazakhstan’s tourism potential.
