“Legacy of Tomorrow” – A Virtual Runway Show for Metaverse Fashion Week 2023
In March 2023, “Legacy of Tomorrow” captivated audiences during Metaverse Fashion Week (MVFW), bringing together global participants to explore cutting-edge fashion in a fully immersive digital environment. This event marked the second edition of MVFW, expanding from Decentraland to include platforms like Spatial, Over, and the custom-built multiplayer platform, Soil. The event’s theme, “Future Heritage,” celebrated cultural influences on modern fashion, blending historical designs with futuristic aesthetics.
Technical & Developmental Execution
As Technical Lead, my role was pivotal in ensuring the technical foundation of “Legacy of Tomorrow.” I focused on implementing multiplayer capabilities, network replication, various interactions, player customizations. Central to this project was the implementation of Pixel Streaming technology (based on WebRTC), which enabled real-time rendering across desktops, tablets, and mobile devices, ensuring smooth performance.
User Experience & Interactivity
I contributed significantly to enhancing user interaction design, including the development of Focus Mode. This feature allowed visitors to zoom in on textures, observe animations, and explore garment details from an aerial view. While not directly involved in storytelling design, I ensured that technical aspects supported creative narratives through original music, visual cues, and environment design.
Technology Integration
The project’s success hinged on the end-to-end implementation of Pixel Streaming technology. This involved cross-platform optimization, network synchronization, and seamless integration with Unreal Engine, ensuring a polished and high-performing experience for all users.
