Myriad Where We Connect

Immersive Exhibition on Animal Migration, Climate, and Global Interconnection

Presented at the Frankfurter Kunstverein, MYRIAD. Where We Connect is a large-scale multimedia installation that explores the complex, interwoven systems of life on Earth through real-world stories of animal migration. Visitors are invited to follow the paths of whales, birds, wolves, and other species as they journey across the globe – bringing into focus the fragility and interdependence of life in the age of climate crisis.

Technical & Developmental Execution

As part of the development team, I contributed to implementing interactive systems and real-time digital environments that responded to visitor movement and touch. The exhibition blended projection mapping, gesture interaction, and spatial design to create a tactile, emotionally engaging journey through data-driven storytelling.

Material Narrative & Aesthetic Execution

A core element of the exhibition was carbon – used both conceptually and materially as a unifying visual language. From charcoal drawings and carbon-based sculptures to animated particle systems, carbon served as both metaphor and medium, linking content, form, and the natural systems being explored.

Science, Data & Collaboration

The project was developed in close partnership with the Max Planck Institute of Animal Behaviour, drawing on the Movebank database featuring migration data from over 20,000 tracked animals. This data was transformed into immersive storytelling experiences, connecting hard science with artistic interpretation to spark empathy and ecological awareness.

Impact

MYRIAD invites a shift in perception from observer to participant as visitors navigate a world in flux. It encourages a new biocentric view of our planet, blending technology and narrative to promote understanding, compassion, and meaningful action in the face of planetary emergency.
